Lending a Helping Hand
The past few years have been challenging for many people around the world. Laurence's Larder, a charity very local to us, has continued to be there for so many people in need. They provide a warm welcome and fresh food to those struggling to make ends meet in our community and beyond.
We have kept in touch with them over the last few years, supporting them with donations and showing our appreciation for what they do for the community here in Queen’s Park. They recently re-opened with a new chair of trustees and are ready to take on 2023 and have a great list of ideas to raise funding for the Larder and build support within the local community for the coming year.
They held their first fundraising event on Monday, 12th December and invited us to help with the festive decorations. We were welcomed with open arms, plenty of hot cups of tea and a delicious lunch made by their volunteers.
We plan to hold workshops with the trustees and volunteers in the new year, with the aim of helping them build a solid and successful future with achievable targets and providing them with some guidance to support them in their mission to become the best they can be for their community.
The team of volunteers at The Larder are a truly remarkable group of people who we look forward to continuing to support throughout the year.
