2023 Design Biennale
The sun is finally out, and so is the Quinine Team. June has been a busy month in the office, but we took some time out to get together in the sunshine.
We logged off and followed the sweet smells of Carmel restaurant which is a stone’s throw away from our office. The food was scrumptious, and it was almost unanimous that our favourite dish was the charred hispi cabbage laying on a bed of warm, creamy Labneh…hmm yummy!
There was much to celebrate, we have a Quinine baby on the way! It
was lovely for us to spend quality time with Elena, who will be going on
maternity leave soon.
It was also Dante’s birthday. We sang happy birthday and finished our meal with Victoria sponge cake, baked by our team member David. We are a talented bunch!
Bellies full, we made our way to Somerset House and the Design Biennale - an interactive, musical, and kinetic exhibition of design from around the world. This allowed us to immerse ourselves in artistic expression and culture.
Open Square Collective – a collaboration of four artists with, academic, architectural, and fashion backgrounds, created this playful installation that appreciates sustainability and Maltese tradition. Our team revelled in the endless drapes of flowing fabric reminiscent of ancient Maltese villages.
Overall, it was a great day of laughter and exploration. We look forward to updating you on our next outing.
